HORSE MARKET
Go there and contact
Even if you don't plan to buy a horse during your trip, make an early morning trip to the Uzgen cattle market. It is the largest horse market in the country, and you can also see whole herds of sheep and cows, poultry ... In the land of nomads, the visit of a horse market is obviously unavoidable: there are some magnificent animals, bred especially for equestrian games, others more robust, made for long walks in the mountains ... Negotiations are going well everywhere, the animals are taken away by whole trucks, some individuals try their mount in the middle of the bazaar ... It is a real grab fair where everyone jostles, plays elbows, sneaks to go find the best deals of the day. It's also a good place to buy all equestrian equipment: saddles, whips, bits... You can find everything on the bazaar, new or second-hand, even antiques for some Russian saddles that occasionally come out of the old attics! Here again, negotiation is the order of the day, but you'll have to get up early to make sure you get the best deals or to see the peak of activity. As in other livestock markets in Kyrgyzstan, the best deals are made at dawn, then activity only decreases until lunchtime, and then the bazaar is deserted in the afternoon. An unforgettable visit, which is really worth it!
