AL BORDUCAN
In the absence of a stay at the Al Borducan hotel, a detour by its restaurant is required during a visit to the Sacro Monte. It is perched on the hill hill, and its form in the chamber embraces the curve of the hill. Outside, a beautiful terrace overlooking Varese and its lake; inside, a room with a glass window and the Liberty decor (new Italian art): even those who have not found a place in the sun will find their account. On the side of the kitchen, the chef offers a tempting assortment of regional dishes as well as a few dishes from his home region, Trentino Alto Adige. During tea time: pies, cakes and delicacies will be served, to be tasted accompanied by the elixir del Borducan elixir. This liqueur was invented at the end of the th century by the founder of the site, Davide Bregonzio, a former Garibaldi red shirt, mixing oranges with local herbs. Indeed, Borducan is the Arabic name for "orange".
