44-meter tower with a magnificent view of the entire city
This red-brick tower is all that remains of a vast medieval complex that included the palace of an important Asti family, the Troyas, built in the 13th century. Standing 44 metres high, it is also known as the Clock Tower, after the bell used to strike the hours, installed by the town in the 16th century. You'll have to climb 199 steps to reach the top, but you'll have a magnificent view over the whole city. In winter, the tower is closed, as frost can make climbing dangerous...
