CRIPTA E MUSEO DI SANT'ANASTASIO
Archaeological site and medieval museum with beautiful works and remains of the Benedictine monastery.
Archaeological site and museum of medieval art, preserving works of great beauty and the remains of the Benedictine monastery (8th to 17th century) of Sant'Anastasio and its crypt. The museum conserves capitals and sculptures from the Romanesque church of Sant'Anastastio and the now-defunct Gothic church of the Madeleine. Among the most important pieces, an altar from San Pietro in Consavia (13th century) is striking for the expressiveness and finesse of its workmanship.
