VERCELLI SYNAGOGUE
Recently restored synagogue offering a fascinating guided tour
Built between 1874 and 1878, after ten years of preparatory work, to celebrate the new freedom of worship offered to Jews in the peninsula after 1848, the building features a monumental façade, recently restored, and the entire structure is built in the neo-Moorish style typical of the period. It is one of Italy's most important synagogues. Today, the local Jewish community lives mainly in Turin, so call well in advance to arrange a fascinating guided tour of the synagogue.
