CASTELLO DI BARDI
Bardi Fortress, extraordinary medieval military architecture
Situated on a buttress at the confluence of the Ceno and Noveglia torrents in the Apennines, the fortress of Bardi is an extraordinary example of medieval military architecture, converted into a noble residence in 1500. Since 1250, it was owned by the Landi family, then by the Farnese. The fortress dominates Val Ceno, a valley rich in charming mountain villages, springs, torrents and beautiful landscapes. An unknown destination for mass tourism, it is ideal for trekking and relaxing in the middle of uncontaminated nature.
