At the foot of the castle, in a central square of old Gorizia, an old-fashioned, very luxurious and comfortable establishment, located in the Strassoldo Palace, an eighteenth-century building that was the residence of the French court at the time of Charles X. The hotel has about 40 elegant and spacious rooms and suites, furnished in the Biedermeier style of the first half of the 19th century. One of these rooms was occupied by Marie-Thérèse Charlotte of France, nicknamed "Madame Royale"! The establishment also has a restaurant and a wine bar.

Ottima posizione, a due passi dal castello e da Piazza della Vittoria. La mia camera era confortevole e silenziosa, il frigobar però completamente vuoto, nemmeno una bottiglia di acqua. Da un hotel a quattro stelle avrei voluto trovare anche un bollitore in stanza.
Il bagno essenziale e con tutti i comfort. In generale ho trovato l'hotel superpulito e ordinato.
Buona e abbondante la colazione. Staff molto gentile ed educato.
