DUOMO DI SANT'ANDREA APOSTOLO
Cathedral with a baptistery crypt exposing naturally mummified bodies
It was built in the 14th century by the architect Griglio da Gemona, who also designed the Duomo of Gemona del Friuli. The exterior is decorated with statues and portals with tympanums carved with bas-reliefs. The interior, sober and majestic, houses frescoes of the fourteenth century. Next to it, in the crypt of the baptistery, are exposed naturally mummified bodies, without human intervention, dated between the fourteenth and nineteenth centuries and discovered in the tombs of the cathedral.
