DUOMO DI BRESSANONE
Beautiful frescoes in a cathedral with an interior decorated with stucco and marble in Bressanone.
Although the cathedral was founded in the 10th century, the present building dates from the 18th century. Its façade is enclosed between two towers and preceded by a portico. The interior is richly decorated with stucco and marble, and the frescoes on the ceiling are by Paul Tröger. Admire the cloister: its Romanesque and Gothic porticoes and its frescoes depicting the Old and New Testaments by various local artists from the late 14th to the 16th century. It traces the history of Tyrolean painting in a lively and colourful style.
