CHIESA DI SAN MICHELE
A remarkable 11th century Romanesque church with beautiful frescoes and a majestic organ in Bressanone.
Of Romanesque construction from the 11th century, this building is remarkable in the region. It has nevertheless known a mixture of styles through the ages: Gothic for the choir and the bell tower (no less than 72 m), a square tower characteristic of the region erected in the 14th century, called the White Tower, which was raised by a belfry and a spire in 1459. Inside, one can admire the high ceilings painted with baroque frescoes of the Vienna school, and the neoclassical touches on the altars. The church also houses a majestic organ.
