CHIESA DI SANTA CATARINA
Church, a marvel of the fourteenth century, with baroque altars in Brunico.
The church of St. Catherine is dedicated to the patron saint of Brunico. It is a small marvel of the XIV century. Notice on this tiny church the gothic marble triptych, above the entrance portal, attributed to Sylvester Hueber. Inside, the baroque altars date from 1726 and the cross, the work of the Pusterese painter Joseph Renzler, dates from 1730. Next to the church, its bell tower is huge, built in the 16th century, and topped by two pretty bulbs. It is unmistakable on the horizon. Excavations in 2001 revealed a flint sword in the ground.
