VOLKSKUNDE MUSEUM
Ethnographic Museum of South Tyrol in the open air, an address to discover in Brunico.
This open-air ethnographic museum of South Tyrol, spread over 3 hectares, is first of all a well-preserved architectural ensemble. More than twenty farms and cottages that existed between the 15th and 19th centuries in these mountains are located in a natural setting. They present the most original examples of the cultures of South Tyrol: traditional costumes, handicrafts, agricultural activities, objects related to piety and popular art (zithers). The exhibition is housed in the baroque residence Mair am Hof, built in 1700 by the Sternbach family.
