For more than fifty years now, the Maria National Opera and Ballet Theatre Bieșu has been presenting the great classics of ballet and opera: Puccini, Mozart, Verdi... This 1960s building, with its interesting architecture typical of the Soviet era, has kept its masterful appearance, reminiscent of a temple of music. The programming and shows are rich, varied and of high quality. The musicians, singers and dancers are of great talent.

D'abord, il faut y aller pour le cadre : la salle est aussi belle extérieurement qu'intérieurement (hall, salle, escaliers, foyer) , dans le plus beau style soviétique d'apparat. Ensuite la programmation y est bonne avec de vrais bons chanteurs et musiciens, même si la mise en scène que nous y avons vu était un peu trop classique. Pour un français amateur d'opéra, c'est vraiment une bonne occasion d'en profiter. Juste un petit bémol pour le public, que a tendance à discuter ou s'occuper du téléphone (même si ce n'est pas Naples ! on peut quand même profiter du spectacle).
Pour être bien vu, on est prié de s'habiller pour aller à l'opéra : tenue de ville élégante, avec jupe pour les femmes et chaussures cirées pour les hommes.
