This renowned festival usually takes place between September 4 and 16 each year at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Chișinău. The opening ceremony brings together government officials and personalities from the Moldovan cultural world. For opera fans, the repertoire is classical with works such as Aida or La Traviata by Verdi and Madame Butterfly by Puccini. Performances are given by Moldovan and foreign orchestras. It is a very popular festival for classical music lovers.
