DIVINE COGNAC FACTORY BARZĂ BARZĂ
In this northern region, which is not very wine-producing, there are a few cellars specialising in white wine and (divine) cognac, including the famous Barză Albă. Founded in 1944, it is one of the most important wineries in the country of this famous Divin and other vodkas. The products are exported to Russia, the Baltic States, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania, Australia, Germany, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and China. The age of the liqueurs ranges from three to fifty years for the most exceptional. The distillery produces four types of "divine" (XXO, XO, VSOP and VS), brandy and cider brandy called rachiu de cidru. Visits to the distillery will inform you about the production methods of this liqueur and tastings will allow you to discover the varieties produced on site. The price of the package varies according to the offer chosen, the most expensive allowing you to taste liqueurs from seven to fifty years old. You can buy them on the spot or in shops.
The stork, sometimes represented with a bunch of grapes in its beak, is the symbol of this distillery and refers to a legend from the reign of Ștefan cel Mare. When the fortress of Soroca was under siege by the Ottomans and the besieged were running out of food, storks carried bunches of grapes in their beaks and dropped them on the courtyard of the building. This miracle saved the Moldavian soldiers and enabled them to win the victory.
