MIDDLE PARK
It is a park that extends over 16 hectares and has the status of a state-protected monument.
The park complex was founded in 1893 by Kaetan Ohanowicz, of Polish origin and according to the plans of the famous architect Bernardazzi (author of a large number of buildings in Chişinău).
The park includes a manor house, a watermill, two wooden bridges and a family vault. The manor house was built according to the principles of Polish architecture, a two-storey brick construction with five entrances, as the lord was very careful and never used the same exit through which he entered. There is an underground passage that connected the family vault and a well that no longer exists. It is said that the whole park was developed and completed in forty days, as the Ohanowicz mistress who was in Poland at the time had expressed the wish to visit the site. The park, consisting of fifteen driveways, five water sources, three lakes and two streams, is rich in rare and exotic plant species and also includes walnut, beech and black pine trees. It is in these lakes that the first black carp will be introduced in Moldova
In the early 1940s, the lord prematurely lost his son and daughter and went mad. In Soviet times the estate became a fish farm, then the property of the Drocchia sugar factory, before becoming the villa of the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Moldova, and finally a pioneer camp. The park is beautiful and the manor house deserves to be renovated.
