WINE ESTATE CHATEAU VARTELY

Château Vartely is a renowned wine estate. Guided tours take you into the huge, very modern production, conservation and maturation rooms in oak barrels, to finish in the tasting room, the one of the great wine collection. There's a cosy atmosphere in the basement. Here, you sit down at large tables, take notes, choose your wines, with explanations. The rooms present a collection of wines from all over the world and are an opportunity for Moldavians to discover foreign flavours and compare them with the wines of their region. The estate's vines produce white wines, while the red wines come from southern Moldavia. The vines occupy about 380 hectares and the youngest vines have been imported from Europe, especially Italy. You will be able to taste six wines, from white to red, to finish with the ice wine, made from frozen bunches of grapes, or the cognac also produced by the estate. In short, this visit represents a pleasant stopover on the heights, which you can complete by passing by the shop, without forgetting the possibility of eating on the spot and why not rest there for the night.

Native and European grape varieties present on the estate: fetească alba, fetească regală, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, traminer, pinot gris, muscat, riesling, muscat ottonel, pinot noir, merlot, cabernet-sauvignon, grand noir, fetească neagră, rară neagră, shiraz, malbec, muscat rouge.
