Cahul is a fairly old town, first mentioned in the 16th century. It was called Frumoasa and bore this name until the beginning of the 20th century. Its town hall is located in the city centre, near the post office and the Bogdan Petriceicu State University Hașdeu. The town hall and its website can provide you with information about the history of the city, its attractions, public events, parties, local NGOs... Among the local attractions you can see churches and the city museum, located in the park 500 m west of the town hall.
