The village of Tigheci is mentioned under the name of Cigheci in a document of 1436. It is distinguished by its old church, its nature reserve and the Fautor wine estate.
Saint-Nicolae Church: originally built in wood in 1794, it was rebuilt in stone in 1829, but the communist activists of the village of Tigheci demolished it in 1968. On 9 June 1990, it was rebuilt in white stone according to the cross plan of the original model. This beautiful church is visible from afar with its 22 m high and six domes. Inside, there are icons with old inscriptions from the 18th century.
Codrii Tigheci Nature Reserve: created in 1975, the reserve includes a forest covering an area of 2,519 ha located on the Tigheci Plateau. The reserve is remarkable for its unique flora, which is now under state protection. A discovery of the reserve is proposed by the tourist agency Solei at Chişinău.
Domaine viticole Fautor: this family business was founded at the end of the 20th century and acquired modern technology in 2003-2006. Its vineyards cover 350 ha. It produces red, white and rosé wines, including ice wines and late harvests. It received numerous awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019, before receiving the award for the best wine producer in the country in 2020.
