ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM
This beautiful little village museum was created in 1973. The museum's collection represents about 10,655 objects concerning the history, customs and culture of the region: literary documents, philately, coins, pottery, a few old farming tools, carpets, traditional costumes, popular handicrafts, a loom and even some old weapons. One can also admire some rather recent paintings from local artists or amateur painters. Everything is presented with a view to enhancing the heritage and developing local culture. One room is dedicated to Leova's past and another to its contemporary and more recent history. The museum has a permanent collection but also organizes temporary exhibitions and thematic meetings, open days, various cultural activities. The premises are often visited by schoolchildren and shows are organized on certain occasions, as well as exhibitions of drawings and paintings (the building also houses a school of visual arts). Workshops are held to familiarise students with craft activities such as the operation of old looms.
It is a small visit not to be missed, one appreciates above all the attention and value that the people of Leova give to their small museum. It is the only testimony that concentrates their heritage and they take great care of it. In the locality you can also visit the church of Saint Parascève.
