MUSÉE PAYSAN
The small village of Molovata Nouă is charming, situated in a large meander formed by the river Dniestr. The peculiarity of this locality lies in its status as a Moldavian enclave which must be accessed through the territory controlled by the Transnistrian authorities. The peasant museum was recently established in a traditional house in the village, recognizable by its light-coloured façade and blue doors and windows. The building has been renovated by local volunteers wishing to promote rural traditions. The premises are charming, with a courtyard shaded by a large tree and surrounded by a green vegetable garden. Inside the farmhouse you can see various handicrafts, antique furniture, carpets and embroidery. In the stone-vaulted cellar you will see some food (tomatoes, cabbage...) preserved in jars and you will be able to taste some local alcohols. The visit of the living room, the workshop with its tools, the wine press and the cellar will make you discover the country way of life and the Moldavian traditions.
The people in charge of this peasant museum have also planned to turn it into an agrotourism boarding house and to accommodate tourists passing through who are fond of rustic comfort. The atmosphere of the place is enchanting in spring or summer, ideal for resting in peace and quiet in the middle of nature. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, cycling, boating, fishing or taking a nap. 500 m north of the Farmers' Museum, a ferry connects Molovata to Nouă.
