FUTURE OF FLIGHT AVIATION CENTER & BOEING TOUR
Located about a 30-minute drive from Seattle and less than 10 minutes from Everett, the Boeing Centre is one of the region's major attractions. The firm was founded in 1916 by William Boeing and George Westervelt. The head office is in Chicago, but both plants are based in Wichita, Kansas, and Everett, Washington. It is the main competitor of the European Airbus. It is better to book in advance if you want to make sure you can follow the 1.5 hour tour behind the scenes of the factory where the Boeing 747, 767, 777 and the most recent 787 are assembled (the 737 MAX, which suffered serious setbacks in the spring of 2019 following the Ethiopian Airlines crash is not assembled here, but in Renton). The museum is very informative: we understand how an aircraft, engines and cockpit work. A flight simulator is available to play the apprentice pilot. You can even create your own aircraft on a computer and test it virtually. Souvenir shop and cafeteria.
