ANARKALI BAZAR
It is one of the oldest markets in South Asia. The old part of the bazaar is famous for its food street, an avenue filled with local food stands and restaurants, while the "new" Anarkali is a very lively market where you can find traditional clothes, fabrics, jewellery, shoes, etc.
According to legend, Anarkali was a slave of exceptional beauty. At a ceremony in honour of Prince Salim (who would become Emperor Jahangir), the latter fell madly in love with the young woman who had come to dance for him. The two young men became lovers, but when Salim informed his father, Emperor Akbar, he opposed their union. The son then decided to fight his father and built his own army. But Emperor Akbar defeated his son and offered him two options: give him Anarkali or be sentenced to death. Anarkali, unable to bear the loss of the man she loved, surrendered on her own, asking the emperor for one last favor: to spend a night with Prince Salim. The next morning, guards took him away and took him alive
