RAHMAN ABDUR MUSEUM CHUTGHAI
Known as Pakistan's greatest painter, Abdur Rahman Chughtai lived between 1897 and 1975. In particular, he has created his own style of painting, a style inspired by Mughal art, miniature painting, Islamic art and Art Nouveau. He alone has produced nearly 2,000 watercolours, thousands of sketches, and nearly 300 engravings. He has also designed many stamps and coins. His work has been critically acclaimed and he has received many distinctions. Among his admirers were Picasso and Queen Elizabeth. His son, Arif Rahman Chughtai, is the owner of the art gallery in which some forty of his works can be admired. It is located in a huge residence bordered by a park populated by century-old trees. A magnificent museum inspired by Mughal architecture has been under construction for some years, but it will still be some time before it is operational. This place is an oasis dedicated to art. Arif Rahman will serve as your guide, and will share with you succulent stories. He can also show you works by Chughtai that are not in the gallery if you contact him in advance. In any case, it is preferable to call the museum before going there.
