MOHATTA PALACE
In the late 1920s, a businessman asked India's first Muslim architect to build him a residence inspired by the most beautiful Rajasthan rajput princes' palaces. The architect uses pink rock from Jodhpur and yellow rock from Gizri, which recalls the elegant Mughal architecture. Bought by the Pakistani government at the time of Independence, the building was then donated to Fatima Jinnah, Mohammad Ali Jinnah's sister, who lived there until her death in 1967. In 1995, the Culture Department of Sindh province bought, restored and converted the place into a museum. The exhibitions, on Pakistan's cultural heritage, change about every six months.
