As far as Caving is concerned, Alsace has nothing to envy the other French regions! Indeed, it draws on its geographic proximity with the local limestone and its extraordinary mining heritage around Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. The High Rhine Regional Committee on the Haut-Rhin is involved in the field by taking part in actions to safeguard this mining heritage, but also of the underground fauna and especially the bats. His actions are varied: in particular, the Committee safeguards the entry of mines and works to consolidate access. It also forms the techniques of evacuation of victims in the event of an accident the speleologists that belong to Caving Rescue French. In addition, he participates annually in the organization of National Caving Days. Would you like to visit a mine or introduce yourself to caving? Please do not hesitate to consult the committee's website: you will find all the necessary information and contacts of the various roommate clubs in the region!
