Supporting the great sick, the elderly at the end of life and welcoming their entourage and the bereaved people are part of this association's prerogatives. But not only, JALMAV is part of a more general approach, with the aim of getting the dying to recognize the dying as a full living to its last breath. In practice, the association intervenes with dying people in hospitals or at home to provide them with a better quality of life while supporting their entourage. It also provides support to the bereaved and contributes to public awareness of the use of palliative care (emphasizing the importance of taking into account the psychological, social or spiritual needs of the sick). This secular structure ensures the training of its volunteers and generally attempts to change mentalities by raising public awareness of the issues of disease and end of life.
