This 12-meter-high Statue of Liberty is an exact copy of the original, created by Auguste Bartholdi.

It is an exact copy of the original statue, created by Auguste Bartholdi in 1886, which stands guard over the entrance to New York harbor. Reaching a height of 12 meters, it was inaugurated on July 4, 2004, to mark the 100th anniversary of the sculptor's birth. The Alsatian version of "Miss Liberty" weighs 8 tonnes of resin and modelling clay, tinted in the same patina verdigris as the original version, on an Eiffel-style metal structure. His majestic toga has exactly a thousand folds. The highlight of the show is the night lighting.

A quelques kilometres du centre de Colmar en allant au nord vers Strasbourg. C'est sympa. On a vite fait le tour étant donne que c'est situe dans un rond point.

Cela me fait toujours rire de passer devant ce rond point où la petite soeur de celle de new york est exposé. Nous apprenons aussi sont importance et son histoire à colmar avec son celebre createur bartholdi qui dispose egalement d'un musee dans la ville . Bref on ne s'en lasse pas!
