FABRICA DE VIN ROMANEŞTI
These vineyards are at the origin of the famous wine Romaneşti, which we like to compare to our Bordeaux wines. The soil and favourable climatic conditions allow the production of a "dry" red. The land was owned by the Romanovs (dynasty that ruled Russia from 1613 to 1917) and in 1850 a wine factory for the personal consumption of the royal family was established.
In 1982, in Soviet times, with a production of 10,000 tons of grapes per year, Romaneşti was one of the largest factories. Later, a laboratory and modern equipment allowed the winemakers to work on the creation of new wines. In the year 2000 the white and rosé of Romaneşti appeared. Since 2001, the new owners have invested significant funds in the reconstruction of the means of production and the renewal of the vineyards (new varieties of grape varieties such as Cabernet). These well-balanced wines are aged for two years in oak barrels. They are characterized by a ruby colour and a refined sweet bouquet of almond and violet. They are exported all over the world. The company produces a wide range of products, the wines of Romăneşti are inexpensive and fairly light in alcohol (9 to 12%). Among the wines produced are dry white (sauvignon, chardonnay), dry red (merlot, pinot franc), semi-dry white (muscat, aligoté), dry red wine, sweet white, sweet red wine (Imperial Baptism, Imperial Feast) and collectible wines (Negru from Romăneşti, Purpuriu from Romăneşti, Roşu from Romănești).
