IGLESIA SAN BLAS
The first Franciscan church in Paraguay was built in 1698, using materials salvaged from the first Franciscan chapel, which was located on the very site of the temple. The roof, the fresco behind the altar, the altarpiece, the doors and the statues are all original. This well-preserved building is of great historical value. It was declared a National and International Heritage Site in 2004 by the Paraguayan government. In front of the church stands a monument to the Unknown Soldier, in memory of the Itá men who died in the Chaco War.
