The Cerro Tres Kandú (or Cerro Peró), is the highest peak in Paraguay, at 842 m. It is located 6 km from the municipio de General Garay, in the Yvytyruzu nature reserve, south of Villarrica. The summit offers a majestic view of the lush green plains on the horizon. Of course, it is worth it, the 3 km climb takes 2 hours 30 minutes, and it is recommended to leave early, especially in summer, to endure the heat. Count two hours of descent. Information at the Visitor Centre and camping area. A guide is not essential, the path is marked.
