CERRO AKATÎ
The Cerro Akatî is one of the highest peaks in Paraguay, at 650 m above sea level. Its watchtower is very much used in tourist advertising campaigns about Paraguay, as it offers a beautiful panoramic view of the entire Guaíra Valley. The watchtower is located about 15 kilometres from Ciudad Independencia, by a track. You can get there on foot, by mountain bike, or by 4x4. It is possible to camp on the summit. From up there, a path leads down to Itá Letra. Cerrito and Cerro de la Cruz are also good options for gaining altitude.
