Ovechá Ragüé means "that which comes from the sheep" in Guarani, which is wool! The festival of San Miguel (north of the department of Misiones) therefore pays homage to the ancestral work of sheep's wool, which is the main source of local employment (breeding, handicrafts). The festivities include concerts, rodeos, asados and beautiful craft exhibitions (hammocks, sweaters, etc.). It takes place at the beginning of the austral winter, so woollen goods sell very well!
