MUSEO AIMÉ BONPLAND
The Aimé Bonpland Museum is located opposite the park, in a small colonial house that served as a school in the days of the reduction. The great botanist from La Rochelle, a prisoner of Dr. Francia who saw him as a spy, was confined to Santa Maria de Fe for ten years, between 1821 and 1831. The creation of the museum, inaugurated in 2015, was the initiative of Denis Vène, French ambassador to Paraguay from 2004 to 2007, whose house was transformed into a museum. It includes two rooms on Bonpland's life and a botanical garden at the rear.
