The Callinet organ is a fine example of Alsatian craftsmanship, classified as a historic monument in 2012.
The Callinet stands out as the most famous organ in Porte d'Alsace. Designed by Joseph Callinet in 1846, it features 3 manuals and some 40 stops. In 1969, under the impetus of Pierre Coulon, the Association pour la Restauration de l'Orgue Callinet was founded. Over a 15-year period, a constant effort raised 80% of the funds needed for its renovation, which was carried out between 1977 and 1985. In 2004, the gilding of the organ case was restored by a Master Craftsman, winner of the MOF 2000 competition. Classified as a Historic Monument, this instrument is a jewel of Alsatian craftsmanship
