Overlooking the Plaza de la Libertad, the Cathedral of Concepción is an elegant yellow and white church, in classical style, but built in the 1960s after the collapse of the old church. The main interest is the presence inside the works of Carlos Colombino, a famous plastic artist born in Concepción. There is also a holy water basin in pink marble, as well as a reproduction of the Black Madonna from Częstochowa, donated by Pope John Paul II. Right next to the church is a small museum of sacred art.
