This museum bears the name of one of the first scientists to take an interest in the fauna of the Chaco. Jacob Unger, born in Russia in 1894 and died in Filadelfia in 1959, was a biologist and a talented taxidermist. The main fauna of the Chaco is presented: armadillos, ñandu, puma, aguarra guazú, snakes, butterflies, insects and 210 species of birds, in a good state of conservation. Also fossils of glyptodonts and mastodons and objects from the pre-Columbian period from different ethnic groups of the region: ceramics, utensils and weapons made of wood or stone..
