PUNTA LICOSA
Cape with a rich natural park and a small hidden village, the island of Licosa opposite
Punta Licosa is a cape that closes the Gulf of Salerno to the south. Its name comes from the Greek Leucosia. Legend has it that it is one of the mermaids encountered by Ulysses on his voyage in Homer's Odyssey. It consists of a natural park made up of Mediterranean scrubland and in its centre a small hidden village. The end of the promontory is easily reached on foot from the port of San Marco di Castellabate. Once there, the small island of Licosa and its lighthouse can be seen opposite. Beautiful beaches and spectacular sea.
