FLERS CASTLE MUSEUM
Château de Flers museum, presenting the history of the estate and its collections, including paintings by Jean-Victor Schnetz
Owned by the Counts of Flers until the Revolution, and then by the Schnetz family, the château was built in the 16th century and has since been remodeled. Framed by a moat and bordered by a wooded park, the building stands in an island of nature. Behind its elegant eighteenth-century porch, the château houses a museum that showcases the history of the estate through an exhibition of the château's rooms (kitchen, bedrooms). What's more, its fine arts collection, comprising a wide range of works from the 19th (Schnetz, Léandre, Pezant, Caillebotte, Courbet...) and 20th (Cocteau, Rousaud...) centuries, is well worth a visit.
