If this anthropological museum looks a bit dusty, the inner courtyard is a real haven of peace. The building is named after the poet who was born here in 1910, Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı. The French-speaking and Francophile artist is best known for his poem Otuz Beş Yaş, which celebrates life. The house is built on two levels of black basalt, just 50 meters from the Ulu Camii. Set up as a museum, it displays the objects and furniture of the poet and writer.
