ZEYNEL BEY TÜRBESI
This mausoleum, built by the governor of the region during the Akkoyun period for his son Zeynel (died in 1473 in a war against the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet Fatih), has a cylindrical exterior and a octagonal interior. The mausoleum restoration project, covered with mosaic, has been abandoned. On the right of the bridge are the remains of the old bridge of Hasankeyf, dating back to 1140, the Eski Köprüsü. Built by the Artukides and renovated by the Akkoyunlu, it is the largest stone bridge ever built at the time. For a better view of this one, admire it from the new bridge or from the citadel. You can also get down to the Tiger by passing a small street, near the El Rizk mosque.
