The Latifiye Camii Mosque is hidden behind the Akbank and has an ablution fountain in its inner courtyard. These monuments were built in 1371 by Abdullatif bin Abdullah and represent one of the last works of the Artuklu period. The minaret (1845) is the work of Mehmet Pasha, governor of Mosul. Of particular interest is the vault-shaped portal, whose bicoloured stones are finely carved in the shape of stars and geometrical patterns.
