CAVE DI PERTOSA AULETTA
Cave with the vestiges of a palafittic village, to be discovered by boat on an underground river then on foot.
This cave, formed over 35 million years ago, was not opened to the public until 1932. Excavated over 2.5 km into the mountain, the site has revealed the remains of a palafittic (pile-dwelling) village from the 2nd millennium BC and was used as a place of worship by the Greeks and Romans. The visit is accompanied by a guide and the first 200 m are done by boat on an underground river. You continue on foot to the Sala Grande, 24 m high.
