SUUREMÕISA MANOR HOUSE
This manor house is considered one of Estonia's largest Baroque complexes. Its gardens are remarkable.
The manor house was built between 1755 and 1760, on the orders of Countess Ebba-Margaretha Stenbock. It is one of Estonia's largest Baroque complexes. Purchased by Otto von Ungern-Sternberg, a powerful landowner, it remained in the family's possession until 1909. Abandoned and looted until 1919, the mansion was transformed into a school. The manor is still used as a primary and technical secondary school, but can be visited in part. Its gardens and English park are particularly worth a visit.
