SÕRVE LIGHT
Lighthouse built in 1770 at the tip of the peninsula.
The magnificent coastal road between Kaugatuma and the Sõrve lighthouse to the south offers superb panoramic views. After the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact in 1939, the Soviets installed cannons here to protect the area. If you stop, you can see the remains. Then, at the tip of the peninsula, stood a lighthouse built in 1770 but unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War. A new lighthouse was built in 1960. At 52 meters high, it is the highest lighthouse in the Baltic and can be visited in summer.
