OLD BELIEVERS CHURCH OF RAJA

In the middle of the village, a strange wooden chapel stands proudly. Besides, a slightly larger building houses unexpected treasures. It is here that all the past and liturgical objects linked to the Old Believers are preserved. This almost disappeared religion remains thanks to certain practitioners who maintain the places. Services are still sometimes organized, but everything in the places announces the exhaustion of a bygone era. The region is also known for its very strong and unique onions and potatoes. The farmers, the summer, settle on the road to sell these products from their crops. If you ever go there during the season, think of buying them something because the standard of living is here among the lowest in Estonia, and it will be a benefactor for these workers.
