Orthodox monastery built between 1892 and 1895, located in Kuremäe, offering guided tours by nuns.
Built between 1892 and 1895, it is the only Orthodox monastery in Estonia to house more than 100 nuns. In 1919, the country confiscated the monastery's land and placed it under the authority of the Orthodox Church. During the Second World War, the site was used by the German army to house Russian prisoners. Then, in 1991, 161 nuns formed the monastic community of Pühtitsa. You can take advantage of tours organized by the nuns. The spring at the foot of the hill has been considered sacred since time immemorial.
