CASTLE OF THE TEUTONIC ORDER
Ruins of a Teutonic Order castle at the northern end of the lake, with an explanatory panel tracing its history.
To the north of the lake - where the Narva River flows into the lake - and on the border with Russia, lie the ruins of a castle belonging to the Teutonic Order. This was a religious order of chivalry founded by citizens of Bremen and Lübeck in 1191. On site, at the ruins, don't miss the explanatory panel to learn more about the history of the place. Just across the river, you can see the Russian flag and its grounds.
