Over the course of a weekend, I and my 4-year-old son tested the largest amusement park in Spain, PortAventura World, during the Christmas season. In addition to its famous attractions, the park offers during this period beautiful shows for the whole family, two ice rinks, and the unavoidable Enchanted Forest, a route populated by wonderful characters who will lead your mosquitoes to Santa's house. A tip: set this visit around 2pm (Spanish lunch time) to avoid the crowd! Every year, the range of shows is enriched with new stories and characters: this year, Tad the Explorer and Shrek & Fiona joined the PortAventura cast. The enchanting decoration of the park is joined by the various hotels and restaurants, which take the big game out to immerse visitors in the magic of Christmas. Although I am a kitch, I must admit that I was caught up in the game of La Posada de los Gnomos, a meal show led by a very friendly group of elves.
