In a pretty square, a free museum devoted to the formation of Meteora's rock columns over 23 million years.
This municipal museum (Μουσείο Γεωλογικών Σχηματισμών των Μετεώρων/Mousio Geologikon Schimatismon ton Meteoron) is housed in the former Kastraki school. On the first floor, a fine collection of Greek rocks and crystals. Upstairs, panels and a video on the formation of the rocks of Meteora over the last 23 million years. In the pretty square below, don't miss the view of the frail, menhir-like rock column of Adrachti (the "spit").
